The Rat, Boston, MA

Todd's Charvel Model 5

I bought this guitar new in 1987.  That's me above, playing it with FEED back in '97.  In '88 I had the stock Jackson pickups replaced with EMGs, an 81 in the bridge and a 60 in the neck.  The tremelo is the original Kahler which I prefer over the Floyd Rose.  Although the guitar seems to be black, it is actually a very dark "black cherry" which can be seen when the light hits it just right.  This is a neck-through design with 24 frets and a rosewood fretboard.

Of all my guitars this one is my favorite.  I have spent more hours with this guitar than I have with most of my friends.

Update: This guitar now has EMG 89's in both positions.

This is the most commonly searched for item on my site. A lot of people are looking for informaion about these guitars apparently. So why do they still consistenly sell for $300.00 - 400.00??? Damned if I know. They are sweet!
